We have been studying outer space. We have eaten astronaut food. We have measured how far apart the planets are (relatively). We have made planet books and moon craters. We have also tasted lemon pudding like the moon. Someday we hope to go there for real but until then we have sure liked learning about it.

St Patrick's Day is a great time of year when you are in second grade. Leprechaun's come to visit our room. Some are nice and read stories to us and some make a huge mess. Erupting rainbows and walking water always fun ways to spend our day! We have been studying about the dinosaurs for the last two weeks. We looked at when they lived, what they ate, how they defended themselves. We even had a dinosaur dig and reconstruction. We also got to eat dinosaur food and we measured dinosaurs in the gym. Thank you to everyone who helped us including Miss Tara and Mr. S This week we celebrated Dr. Seuss week. Here are some of the fun things we did. We built circus tents for Who ran the circus? We designed our own animals for Who Ran the Zoo? We pinned stars on Sneeches for the Sneeches. We wore stripes for Cat in the Hat Day, crazy socks for Fox in Socks Day, Animal prints for Who Ran the Zoo Day, and red and blue on Red FIsh, Blue Fish Day. And we also celebrated Wacky Wednesday. On Wednesday we made Oobleck for Bartholomew and the Oobleck. On Thursday we had several guest readers who can to read to us for Red across America Day. The kids loved it. |
