This week as dinosaur week. It was very exciting. We learned all about them. At the end of the week we had a dinosaur escape room. Here are some of our pictures. This week we looked at several versions of the three little pigs. We also built three little pig houses out of all kinds of materials. Here are our pictures. This week we built structures with candy hearts and graphed candy hearts. We did not eat the candy hearts. They work much better for building if they are old as the glue sticks to them better so the kids were a bit disappointed that they could not eat them. However, they did a great job! See what they built. For our Valentine's day party we had poprock punch and cookies. It was a good day! We celebrated our 100th day of school this week. We also learn about the different states of matter. You can see pictures of our snowman for our life cycle of a snowman. Unfortunately for us the groundhog saw his shadow. So I guess we will have more winter. Here are our pictures. This week we learned about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr and his peaceful way of solving problems. We learned about the hard struggles that he faced and how he overcame them. We also learned about solids, liquids, and gases in science. Here are some of our pictures. This week we focused on life in the arctic. We looked at how animals adapt to survive there. We also built igloos and snow forts. We saw how blubber works and waterproof feathers. We did arctic animal research. This week we learned about Pilgrim children and how they lived. We made butter and had homemade bread. We also celebrated our own Charlie Brown Friendsgiving. This week we studied Veterans day and said Thank you to our Veterans. We also studied the Native Americans from the northeast as we read the Rough Faced Girl. We built wigwams and longhouses. We also played a Native American children's game called ring and stick. Lastly we built a windfarm as part of our stem activities. |
