This week was a little bit crazy. We had an extra day off in the middle of the week for snow and ice. Luckily, we still had our STEM day. This was a reward for filling our WOW chart. For STEM day we built 3D snowmen, igloos, snow forts and tents from our Tony Baloney book. Here are some of our pictures. This week we studied the three states of matter and penguins. During our study of matter we looked at the three states of matter and used them to talk about the life cycle of a snowman. Later in the week we finished our penguin unit including nest building and carrying penguin eggs on our feet. It's harder than it looks. We also looked to see if we were taller than our penguins. This week we celebrated new years with a new years party including hats, games and cotton candy punch. Later we studies penguins, why they are waterproof and other facts about them. We will continue to study penguins later this week. We also started looking at matter in our world. Late in the week we looked at different solids and liquids. Stay tuned for more! |
