This week we made maps. Then we went outside on the playground and drew our maps. We also got to spend a few minutes practicing our story retellings with our friends. Usually we have do everything individually, but we got to be together for a few minutes to share our stories.

This was the first week back to school for us. We started out the first day with the story of the First Day Jitters. To help our jitters we had some jitter juice outside. We also had a Pete the Cat Story about his Rockin' School Shoes. We decorated our own virtual school shoes. Overall, it was a "dog gone" good start to the year.
Here are the pictures of our St Patrick's day fun. This week we are celebrating Dr Seuss week. Monday was read the day away and Fox in socks Day. Tuesday was red fish, blue fish day. Wednesday was Green Eggs and Ham Day. Thursday is If I ran the Zoo day and Friday was Cat in the Hat Day. It was so fun. Thank you too all our guest readers.
We celebrated our first day back with a New Year party complete with games, hats and cotton candy punch. You are see our pictures below. Then we were off to study Penguins and Polar Bear. Here are pictures of our penguins, learning how penguins are waterproof, how penguin parents carry their eggs and also our building polar bear dens.
This week we studied Solids, liquids and gasses. We also made a snowman so that we could see water in all three states. Here are some of our pictures.
In our December study we read several books about reindeer and Santa. Here are pictures of our reindeer games as well as our Christmas stem days and Christmas party. For our stem days we built Christmas card towers and jingle bell runs. It was a lot of fun. We are looking forward to January and our new adventures together. Last week we played reindeer games after reading all kinds of reindeer and Santa stories. We wrote about pet reindeer made reindeer ornaments and told what reindeer do outside of Christmas eve. This week we read different versions of the gingerbread man. We also read night tree. We make food for the birds and decorated our own night trees.
